The Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has denied reports that he said President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo will not make it to Heaven due to the construction of the National Cathedral.
He says he has not made any such comment anywhere because he does not have the power to determine who qualifies to enter Heaven or Hell.
He explained that his issues with the construction of the cathedral have been about “the blatant constitutional violations, flagrant breach of procurement laws and misplaced priorities this time of excruciating economic crisis.”
He added
“As Christians, the Biblical injunction is not to judge others and to work out our own salvation; I am not the one to ever pontificate on who qualifies to make it to Heaven or Hell.”

Earlier he has stated in an interview on Neat FM’s morning show, Ghana Monte that:
“Mathew 25:34 stated clearly the urgency to support the poor. Failure to that you won’t make it to heaven “The God we are serving is a compassionate God, he expects us to do what is right first. You [President Nana Addo] cannot ignore the hungry people and build a church for God. It is not right. As Christian leaders, we should do the right thing. We serve a compassionate God.” he bemoaned.
