So Gallery1957, an art gallery that brings all Ghanaian arts to one place had an exhibition at New York and this had many American celebrities passing through.
One of them was Swizz Beatz who couldn’t hold back his excitement when he saw this Ghanaian art.
Check out the picture below.
These are some of the artworks that were displayed at the gallery.
Don't miss our booth (15) @154artfair New York, where we are exhibiting works from @jeremiahquarshie and @afrogallonism. We are delighted #JeremiahQuarshie’s ‘Gifty’ is staying in #Accra and has been acquired by Seth Dei, a collector who has the largest private collection of contemporary Ghanaian #painting in the country. From the #YellowistheColourofWater series, the work takes its narrative from contemporary life in #Ghana, with particular emphasis on the passage of water throughout Accra. #sethdeifoundation #ghanaarts #collecting #artinaccra
Yesterday was #WorldWaterDay. Launched in 1993 by the United Nations General Assembly and coordinated by @UN_Water in collaboration with governments and partners, the day is about taking action to tackle the water crisis. #Gallery1957 artists @jeremiahquarshie and @afrogallonism both feature yellow gallon containers used to carry water in their work. 📷 @jeremiahquarshie, #YellowistheColourofWater, 2013, painting, 80 x 100cm
