Woman Arrested In Kirinyaga For Killing Her Husband And Daughter While Sleeping

A woman in Kirinyaga County has been arrested after she was accused of killing her husband and daughter while sleeping.

Naomi Wanjiku is said to have killed Charles Murimi 49, and Vallarie Njeri, 13, at their home in Kioru village on Saturday around 3am using an axe.

Wanjiku, who is a senior judicial officer at the Karatina Law Courts was taken to Baricho Police station after she was found hiding.

According to the Kirinyaga West police boss Joseph Mwika, Naomi was found hiding in a bush at Karima village.

It’s reported that Naomi went to his son’s house after committing the crime and asked him to open the door.

Felix Njine says he opened the door for her mother only to see her armed with an axe and told him that she was going to kill all the family members.

Njine luckily managed to take the axe from her mother who ran away after he called for help from the neighbors.

The neigbours who hurriedly rushed to the scene found the lifeless bodies of Naomi’s husband and daughter.

After she was traced, Naomi was taken to the police station for questioning where she will face murder charges.
