Victor Wanyama registered an assist on his Montreal Impact debut as they suffered a 2-1 home defeat against CD Olimpia in the first leg of their Concafa Champions League quarterfinal on Tuesday night.
Wanyama, who joined the Major League Soccer side from Tottenham Hotspur on a free transfer last week, set up the host’s goal with a delightful headed assist to Algerian Saphir Taïder in the 47th minute.
The Canadian side is coached by Arsenal legend Thierry Henry.
The second leg will be played in San Pedro Sula on March 17.
