Fear has gripped residents of Mukuru Kwa Njenga slums in Nairobi County after a resident was rushed to Mbagathi Hospital with symptoms like that of coronavirus.

According to the Nairobi County Health Executive Hiltan Majevda, as quoted by The Star, the patient has been attended to at a local clinic and discharged when he started showing the signs.

More than 6,000 people have succumbed to the rapidly spreading disease since it broke out at a food market in Wuhan China late last year.

“He has been rushed to Mbagathi Hospital and placed in isolation, experts are keeping a close watch on him,” he said.

The first case was reported on Friday, a 27-year-old woman who had traveled into the country from London.
