Ruth Matete’s deceased husband John Apewajoye alias Beloved John was a loving man if his last message to her is anything to go by.

The Nigerian pastor succumbed to his burn injuries on Saturday night after being in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for ten days, this is after a gas fire incident at their home in Syokimau.

According to Matete’s father, actor Abel Amunga, John was lighting a gas cylinder when it exploded.

Although their marriage had been rocked with controversies since their wedding five months ago, John’s final message to his wife is a testament to the love the two shared.

“Thank you, my love, for being a wife and not a knife…We have a great future ahead of us. Let’s keep on pushing and serving God together. He shall surely reward us,”

Pastor John wrote on April 2, 2020.
