Residents of Nabisiongo village in Matayos constituency, Busia County are still in shock after a man they presumed dead and buried four months ago returned home.

The family of Steven Ogolla had conducted his burial after he went missing for four months.

According to the Standard, Ogolla’s brother Steven Ouma fled when he saw his brother claiming he has seen a ghost as they had buried him.

“I couldn’t tell how a brother, whose body we had identified and buried could be alive,” said Ouma.

After returning home, he received a cold reception. He stood in shock wondering why the people he knew were behaving strangely and did not want to come close to him.

Ogolla was in turn arrested and handed to Matayo’s police post by Boda Boda operators.

He was later left in shock after he was informed that his family had ‘buried’ him.

The farther of seven left home without informing his family. He said he has been living in Port Victoria where he has been fishing to earn a living.

His family in turn started searching for him and at one point they were informed of a body which was floating on River Suo.

His family identified the body and buried it. The biggest question now remains that who is the man that the family buried.

Ogolla is now appealing to the village elders to cleanse his so that he can return home urging the government to exhume the body buried in his compound.
