2 People Who Escaped Quarantine At KMTC arrested On Thika Road

Two of the 50 people were captured on camera escaping from the mandatory government quarantine at KMTC in Mbagathi have been arrested at Marurui off Thika Road.

According to Citizen Digital, Police officers also recovered a laptop believed to have been stolen from the quarantine centre before the escape.

The suspects were taken to the Kasarani area chief’s camp to record their statements.

This comes on the same day President Uhuru had revealed that 50 Kenyans who had escaped from the quarantine centre would be arrested and forced to complete it.

The President was speaking from State House, Nairobi during a live address on national Swahili radio stations: Radio Citizen, Radio Jambo, Radio Maisha, Milele FM and KBC’s Radio Taifa.

According to various sources, the group was having their evening meal when it started to rain, and they saw security officers guarding the premises take cover and that is when they reportedly tool advantage of the situation and jumped over the fence.
