The safety of the Carl Reindorf park in Dansoman is being questioned following the invasion of snakes on the pitch.

GhanaSoccer.net reports that fans who went to cheer their teams last Sunday killed three snakes during the Accra Hearts of Oak and Liberty Professionals clash.

The Club Licensing Board of the Ghana Football Association is said to have inspected all venues for approval, but it looks like they got it wrong with the Liberty’s home ground.

According to football patrons, the state of the Carl Reindorf Park is not safe for games as it is surrounded by bushes breeding all sorts of dangerous animals including reptiles.

This is not the first time animals have joined players on field. In June last year, a Liberty-Professionals-Ebusua-Dwarfs clash was interrupted when sheep entered the pitch to graze.

Sunday’s game ended 2-1 in the favour of Accra Hearts of Oak.
