Singing Nonsense Is Now The New Normal – Shatta Wale

Gone are the days when music seemed to be all about its lyrical content. However, in recent times, the narrative on music has totally changed as any song that can be jammed to has the potential of becoming a banger.

It therefore comes as no surprise that Patapaa’s ‘One Corner’ and Skopatumana songs turned the heads of Ghanaian music fans.

Gibberish music has therefore become a thing now, such that Ghanaian Dancehall Act, Stonebwoy who is noted for doing inspiring music has even joined the trend. He recently released his own version of the so called nonsense music ‘Putuu’ which has become an instant hit.

Ghanaian self-acclaimed Dancehall King Shatta Wale seems to be impressed with how gibberish music is now being upheld in the industry.

According to Shatta Wale, it appears the trend now is for artistes to release songs that do not make meaning. Shatta Wale’s comments come after several industry players had criticized Stonebwoy for releasing his ‘Putuu’ hit song.

In a Snapchat post sighted by OMGVoice.com, Shatta Wale wondered if singing ‘nonsense’ is the new normal in the music industry.

Posting on his Snapchat, Shatta Wale wrote:

“Ei ryt now nonsense singing be the eish now. Make I drop mine anaa?”
