Popular Reggae/Dancehall artist, Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jnr. as Shatta Wale, has been under fire in recent days for comments he made on the rising topic of Ghanaian youth demanding that the government fix the country.
Many prominent celebrities and social media users, including his followers, attacked the award-winning artist, who looked to be highly inconsistent with his ideas when he contributed his voice to the subject.
Shatta Wale branded people asking for the country to be mended as “learned fools and cheap intellectuals” in a series of social media posts.
He went on to say that #FixTheCountry activists are just a bunch of disgruntled grads who can’t mend themselves, among other things.
Following all of the reaction he experienced as a result of his social media statements, Shatta Wale has now went to his Facebook page to apologize to his fans and other Ghanaians who thought his opinion was not measured.
Shatta Wale said on his Facebook page that he has chosen to repent following a lengthy chat with his Godfather, Abass Sariki Giwa 1. He went on to say how much he adores his followers and begged them to brace themselves for the trip ahead.
