Beauty pageants have been a thing since the early 80s and many beautiful women have at some point or the other nursed dreams of contesting.

When we saw the faces contesting for the 2017 edition of the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria, we started thinking of all the popular faces today who have contested for pageants.

Here are some of them!

1. Linda Ikeji

Popular blogger, Linda Ikeji contested for the Miss Nigeria pageant in 2003.

2. Stephanie Okereke

Stephanie Okereke contested for the 2002 edition of the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria. She didn’t win but she went home as a runner up.

3. Ibinabo Fiberesima

In 1992, she competed in the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria pageant where she placed as the second runner-up.

4. Ufuoma McDermott

Ufuoma is no stranger to the beauty pageant life. By 2002, she had participated in two mini-pageants, won the Miss Ebony beauty pageant and partaken in her first national pageant: Miss Commonwealth where she won the Miss Congeniality prize. Later the same year, she emerged 1st runner up in the queen Afrik beauty pageant. 2003 saw her in the Queen of all Nations beauty pageant where she was again the 1st runner up. In 2004 she contested in the Miss Nigeria beauty pageant where she emerged yet, 1st runner up. Not long after she was crowned Miss Earth Nigeria and consequently went to represent the country at the Miss Earth 2004.

5. Lilian Bach

Nollywood actress, Lilian Bach also contested for the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria pageant but wasn’t successful
