Dad, How Do I?- YouTube Man Teaches Basic Skills to Kids Without Father Figure

Rob Kenney is a man of his kind as he took it upon himself to use YouTube channel- “Dad, How Do I?” to teach basic skills to children without a father figure.

The father of two grown successful adults says in an interview with Shattered Magazine that growing up, he did not have a father to look up to.

His father abandoned him with his seven siblings when he was 14 years old.

Rob said he sought God to be able to forgive his father before he passed on in the 1980s.

This was the move that got him to swear to give his life into in his own words, “raising good adults.”

“My goal in life was to raise good adults-not good children, but good adults,” he explained.

Aleteia also reports that Kenney saw this quarantine period to share some essential skills with kids who might be growing up in difficult circumstances: perhaps they have lost a parent or the parents are absent.

That is how he set up his YouTube channel: Dad, How Do I?

Some of the skills he shares include tying a perfect tie knot to changing a car tyre and unclogging the sink.

“I want it to be about everyday tasks, but I also would like to pass along some of the wisdom I have learned along the way to encourage people.” He said.

His practical tips have attracted a lot of support from many people. The channel now has 2.28 million subscribers, giving him a chance to share the tips with much more people than he expected.

“I thought I was just going to be showing people how to do stuff , but it’s kind kind of resonating on a whole different level.” He said amidst emotions.

Kenny released a thank you video to his supporters and it garnered 1.6 million views with so many kind remarks.

Because of him, millions of kids around the world who may not have had a daddy experience can now benefit from his thoughtful and kind gesture.
