Kofi Kinaata Wins VGMA Songwriter Of The Year For A Record 4th Time

The Vodafone Ghana Music Awards weekend kicked off yesterday, June 25, 2021, with the opening night.

On the night, the Song Writer Of The Year award was won by Fante Rap superstar, Kofi Kinaata, and has since become the buzz of the town.

Kinaata has now won the prize four times in a row.

He defeated Diana Hamilton, Adina, Joe Mettle, Abiana, and Epixode at the 22nd Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs) held at the Grand Arena, Accra International Conference Center (AICC).

Kofi Kinaata won Songwriter of the Year for the first time in 2016, then again in 2017.

He was defeated by Ebony, who gained the seat posthumously in 2018. The Songwriter of the Year award went to King Promise in 2019, but Kinaata reclaimed it in 2020 and now in 2021.
