EACC Has Obtained Orders To Seize A KSh 35 Million Property That Is Linked To Obado

EACC has obtained orders to seize a KSh 35 million property that is linked to Obado.

The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has obtained orders to seize a Ksh.35m property in Loresho owned by Jared Kwaga who is suspected to be Migori Governor Okoth Obado’s proxy.

The orders will ensure that the property can neither be transferred nor disposed in any way before the EACC finishes investigations.

The funds have been embezzled by Kwaga.

According to the EACC, the funds used to purchase the property had been embezzled by Kwaga and his family members who are accused of incorporating companies to trade fraudulently with the county.

EACC has since established that tenant at the Loresho property was paying rent to Governor Obado’s daughter Evelyne Zachary.

Governor Obado is a suspect.

The anti-corruption commission now suspects that Governor Obado is a direct beneficiary of said property.

In 2018, the EACC alleged that Governor Obado had siphoned off Ksh.2billion from the country coffers using proxies and relatives.
