DKB Shades Epixode For Saying Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale Ban Is A “Blessing In Disguise”

Comedian Derrick Kobina Bonney has taken a swipe at dancehall musician Epixode for saying VGMA’s ban on Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy is a blessing.

According to the ‘headmaster’, using innuendos, if the ban had happened to Nigerian artistes, their counterparts would have boycotted the awards scheme, unlike Ghana.

Epixode said this at the official launch of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards for this year.

Epixode said in the interview that “some of these things as much as it’s bad for some artistes, it’s also a blessing in disguise for other artistes.” He, however, categorically stated that he is not happy the unfortunate happened to the two top dancehall musician but the fact that it gives way for other acts to be seen.

It is unclear whether DKB’s reaction was indirect but it came at a time that the Dancehall artiste had just granted an interview to Joy News.

He took to Twitter to jot his observation.

“2 major artistes are banned from a national award scheme, if it had been that green white green country, at least other artistes would threaten a boycott. Unfortunately here in Ghana, some see it rather as an opportunity to SHINE….If your neighbor’s beard is burning….,” DKB wrote.

Ghanaian dancehall artistes Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale have been banned indefinitely from participating in all aspects of the country’s foremost music award scheme, the Vodafone Music Awards (VGMAs).

The decision was taken by the board of the award scheme following a brawl between the two feuding musicians at the 20th anniversary of the VGMAs in Accra last year, which saw Stonebwoy pulling out a handgun.
