Betty Kyallo has opened up about how loans saved her and her siblings.
You would think that Betty Kyallo had a walk in the park growing upright? But you’re wrong. Betty actually had a mother who struggled to raise her and the only way they sustained their lifestyle and school is…you guessed it! loans. The news anchor was invited to speak in the EAMUN conference and she thanked her mother for struggling to raise her and her siblings and the loans she had to take to sustain them.
Here’s what she said:
TODAY I WAS HONOURED TO SPEAK AT THE EAST AFRICA MODEL UNITED NATIONS CONFERENCE. I SPOKE TO 700 DELEGATES FROM DIFFERENT INSTITUTIONS AROUND EAST AFRICA. SPOKE ABOUT MY JOURNEY IN THE MEDIA INDUSTRY, MY TRIUMPHS AND CHALLENGES AND FUTURE.
She also added,
I INSPIRED THEM TO ASPIRE TO BE GREAT AND NOTHING ELSE. I’M HAPPY TO USE MY BRAND TO CHANGE OUR GENERATION. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR HAVING ME AS THE FIRST SPEAKER IN YOUR ONE WEEK CONFERENCE. TRULY HUMBLED. THANK YOU GOD FOR THE OPPORTUNITY AND BLESSING TO FULFIL MY MISSION ON EARTH.
Then finally she narrated about her education journey and how her mother contributed to it.
BACK IN 2010 WHEN I GRADUATED FROM DAYSTAR. IT WAS ONE OF MY PROUDEST MOMENTS ESPECIALLY BECAUSE MY DEAR MOTHER HAD REALLY STRUGGLED TO EDUCATE MY SIBLINGS AND I. SHE PAID OUR FEES BY TAKING MANY MANY LOANS… IT WAS A REAL STRUGGLE THAT I LIVE TO REMEMBER. I’M SO GRATEFUL TO HER; I AM BECAUSE SHE WAS. LOVE YOU, MUM.
This is super inspiring on so many levels, especially for single mums.
