TV show host and one of the respected female personalities in Ghana, Berla Mundi is being held accountable for the actions of her during an interview with a rape victim on the ‘Day Show’ over the weekend.
Mawusi who is a rape victim recounted her experience with rape on Berla Mundi’s show disclosing that her offender was a police officer who paid his way out of the situation.
According to her, the case was settled out of court with the police officer paying an amount between Ghc800 and Gh1000. She added that though she was bruised in the process, no medical treatment was given her.
As serious as rape is, the audience burst into laughter during the interview and some Ghanaian celebrities have reacted to the excerpt of the video posted by Berla Mundi. They described the host and her audience as “insensitive” for treating rape as a joke.

A Girl talking about a violent Rape like a comedy show. An Emotionless Presenter Responding to Rape Victim like they re talking about a Bad Film. If that wasn't bad enough a fucking laughing Audience. What the Hell is wrong with society. God Forgive Us. https://t.co/QvBCiO3s2d

The host of the show couldn’t take a few seconds to speak to the audience and tell them that this is no laughing matter ? Goes to show how we Africans don’t take rape serious

However, some people opined that the victim’s way of narrating her ordeal was funny and if she had done so with emotions, the audience wouldn’t have giggled.
