MP Jalang’o: Many People Think I’m A Betrayer, They Will Be Proven Wrong With Time

Lang’ata MP Phelix Odiwuor alias Jalang’o has said his decision to work with the government has seen him being labeled a betrayer.

Speaking in an interview at Citizen TV, Jalang’o said it has not been easy for him especially after his stand to work with President Willliam Ruto on matters of development.

“It has been a very turbulent moment, because of a lot of things that are happening right now, and most of the decisions I took. One, I decided I’ll work with the government despite the fact that my party and my party leader have said no.

“So it has not been easy as many people think I’m a betrayer but I think time will judge me,” he said.

Jalang’o said his focus is on delivering to the people of Lang’ata who believed in him and voted for him.

“I want the people of Lang’ata to ask me after five years, you promised this and this have you delivered? When you work closely with the government, peace prevails and a lot of things are achievable that is why I took this other different stand,” he said.

The MP said they have always been friends with the President and different political affiliations should not get between them.

“Everybody knows I’m working with the president and even before that the president was my friend, has always been my friend,” he said.

He added that the first time he went to State House was after the President called him to visit since he had relocated.

“Even the first time I was in State House it was the President who called to ask why I have not gone to visit him in his new residence and so I went. We are friends.”

Jalang’o was in the eye of a storm after he became part of the 9 ODM MPs who declared that they will not be a party to temporarily stopped demonstrations.

Jalang’o recently said he is working with President Ruto to learn his skills for winning an election.

He said he is keen on becoming the President of Kenya in the future.
