KayCyy Pluto’s star is still shining bright, and if his Grammy honours is anything to go by, he is definitely catching more fame and game.
With everything going for him in the past two years, the Kenyan-born rapper based in the United States, is by and large ruffling up musical charts globally. I mean didn’t you see Nicki Minaj praising him? Last month?!
He now dons the East Africa’s Spotify king’s crown after he topped the most streamed artist across the region, dethroning Tanzanian Bongo flavor star Harmonize.
KayCyy has clutched 892,790 streams against former chart’s leader Harmonize who has 869,252 streams.
Others on the list are (above 100k streams):
Diamond with 824,828 streams, Kenyan boy-band Sauti Sol with 268,697, Otile Brown with 205,561.
Others are Marioo (Tanzania) with 163,926 and Nyashinki with 104,259.
As he prepares for the release of his debut album, KayCyy has charmed his fans with a new EP, TW20 50. The three-track project includes the previously released single “Okay!,” as well as two additional songs, “The Sun” and “Love & Hate”.
At a past interview with BillBoard news, he described the music as “a lot of healing.” He referred to it as “next level” or “2030,” and it comes after a year of listeners wondering who he is.
“I’m not going to stop, and everybody around me is not going to stop. I want everybody to have that mentality,” he said.
