Akon has dissociated himself from a wild-spreading hoax which has him featuring some top reggae/dancehall artistes on an album dubbed “Akon And Friends.”
The flyer advertising the project hit social media over the weekend and was shared multiple times across platforms.
It had such artistes as Dababy, Capleton, Beenie Man, Elephant Man, Sean Paul as well as Ghana’s Shatta Wale, Peetah Morgan and many others.
However, the ‘Locked Out’ singer has denied everything about the said album. Akon broke the shocking news on Twitter, he said:
โFor the record, I am not putting out a reggae compilation called โAKON and Friendsโ I donโt know anything about this project if you see it being promoted itโs not happening.ย @thisis50@TheSource@WORLDSTAR@BET“

The funny thing is, there is nothing on the flyer like the Konvict Music logo associating Akon to this project yet some people somehow could not make it out.
