By now, everybody knows Nigeria is heading to the 2018 Russia World Cup.
However, until recently, not everyone knew what the teams they were to be paired with in the group stage at the 2018 Russia World Cup. (We predicted and we were kinda close)
Ultimately, Nigeria was paired in Group D alongside familiar foes Argentina, Croatia and debutants Iceland.

And here’s pretty much everything you need to know about these teams in Group D were Nigeria falls.
The Argentinian football team are currently ranked at number 4 by FIFA and have appeared in 17 world cups, winning two and being runners-up three times. Nigeria has met the Argentinian football team eight times, winning two games, drawing once and losing five times. Also, the 2018 Russia World Cup would make it the fifth time Nigeria is meeting Argentina at the games. The love story made in FIFA heaven began in Group D at the 1994 World Cup and went on in the year 2002, 2010, 2014 and now 2018.
The Iceland football team are currently ranked at number 22 by FIFA and the 2018 World Cup will be the first time they’re heading to the World Cup.
The Croatian football team are currently ranked at number 17 by FIFA and have appeared in four world cups since they became independent from Yugoslavia. In Croatia’s FIFA World Cup debut in 1998, the team finished third. Croatia has never been in the same group as Nigeria but has met Argentina when they made their debut in 1998.
