On Tuesday, February 28, 2017 reports indicated that over 30 employees of TV3 had been sacked for protesting.
A copy of their dismissal letter intercepted by StarrFM is shown below.
Yesterday, March 1, 2017 on the Citi Breakfast Show, the Spokesperson for TV3’s management, Henry Nii Dortey, sought to clarify the their action.
According to him, the salaries of staff were raised in 2016 and therefore he’s not sure that could be the reason why the staff decided to demonstrate.
He explained that if the staff want to demonstrate or embark on a strike, it’s within their rights but the labour law states that before you do such, you must first notify your management.
He said they gave the affected staff the opportunity to be heard and they didn’t take it so management had to take the decision to protect it’s business and interest.
