In Africa, innovative approaches in the manufacturing of cars is rare but Nigerians have tried.

The West African country displayed a car with a wooden body at the annual ‘Technology and Innovation Expo’ which took place in Abuja on April 3. Nigeria’s Minister of Technology, Ogbonnaya Onu rode in the car named ‘Amara’.

The car designed by Ahmed Aliyu uses a motorcycle engine with all materials sourced locally apart from the engine and tyres.
