Africa’s Youngest Billionaire Kidnapped in Tanzania

Mohammed Dewji, 43, said to be Africa’s youngest Billionaire has been kidnapped by masked gunmen in his home country of  Tanzania.

Dewji was abducted outside a swanky gym in the capital Dar Es Salaam where he was going for his routine morning workout.

Mr Dewji is said to be worth at least $1.5bn and is listed by Forbes as Tanzania’s only billionaire and Africa’s youngest billionaire.

His company, METL, has interests in textile manufacturing, flour milling, beverages and edible oils in at least six African countries.

The motive of the kidnap is still unclear but three people have been arrested in connection with the incident.
