Candidiasis which is a yeast infection, is a common ailment among women and this is because most women have sweet tooth.

Candida under normal circumstances is not harmful to the body but it becomes a nuisance when it grows out of proportion due to a weak immune system. Therefore, one way of keeping it in check is by boosting your immune system through your diet.

In case you’re wondering what to eat, here are 10 foods to help you keep yeast infection in check.

1. Coconut Oil.

Coconut oil has antimicrobial properties and the combination of lauric acid and caprylic acid found in coconut oil kills off harmful candida through ingestion and topical application. So apart from eating it, you can also apply it to the affected area if you’re already battling with it.

2. Yoghurt.

Many are those who actually think yoghurt is “ice-cream” that contains sugar so eating it will rather give candida, far from it. Yoghurt is actually cultured dairy and it’s a probiotic food so eating it rather fights candida. Even applying it on the area if you’re already affected can quickly kill or reduce the infection. By this we are referring to pure yogurt.

4. Fruits.

If you have sweet tooth, we will advise you eat more fruits whenever you’re tempted to eat anything sweet. Most of the sugars in fruits are healthy. What causes candida to grow is the processed sugar which can be found in almost a lot of foods on the shelf in supermarkets. Therefore, eat lots of fruits if you want to prevent candida.
