This is Edward Kobina Enninful.
A Ghanaian and the new editor-in-chief of British Vogue. He takes over from Alexander Shulman and assumes his role on August 1.
Edward was born in Ghana somewhere February 1972. He moved to London at a tender age with his parents and siblings.
He started modelling at the age of 16 after being spotted on a train by Simon Foxton.
He also assisted the fashion director at i-D magazine, Beth Summers at the age of 17 and assumed the role of Fashion Director at i-D magazine after Summers left the company at the age of 18.
He worked for Italian Vogue in 1998 and American Vogue in 2006 before moving on to assume the role of Fashion and Style director at W Magazine where he has been since 2011.
In 2006, he was awarded an OBE for Services To Diversity In The Fashion Industry by The Royal Princess.
One of the proudest moments of 2016 was when I was awarded an #OBE for Services To Diversity In The Fashion Industry by The Royal Princess, Anne at Buckingham Palace.
